Vista password reset disk

If you use Microsoft Windows Vista, please please please do yourself a big favour a create a password reset disk.

This is done by clicking “Start”and then click on “Control Panel”. On the top right hand corner type “reset” and the “Create password reset disk” should appear. Just click on this option.

You can create a password reset disk on a usb key and then save it somewhere safe – perhaps even email it to yourself if you have a hotmail or gmail account.

I have come across cases where the password became corrupted or someone created a password and then forgot. This is the easiest way to reset a vista password.

For windows XP, a forgotten password is easier to deal with – there are plenty of tools around for that…but not for Vista!
